If Carlsberg wrote testimonial letters…

carlsbergOne prospective client for our construction and property sector strategic marketing programme recently asked, “Could we have a written testimonial from one of your customers?” – A question that I’m sure, many of us have been asked before.

Many people nowadays, want to do that final bit of ‘due diligence’ on you before they commit to buying, and it is far more valuable for someone to hear how good you are from a 3rd party, as opposed to getting that same message from your own website or even directly from yourself.

In fact, it is the way that we all behave nowadays, in this ‘research’ environment – our activity on social media platforms, websites and forums allows us to ‘check people out’, before we make a decision to even begin talking with them. (We all generally prefer to be in a ‘sales-free environment and not under pressure when we make any decision)… Continue reading “If Carlsberg wrote testimonial letters…”

Social media – A free guide for the Charities and Voluntary Sector

The Guardian Newspaper is offering a free guide on the subject of using social media in the voluntary sector. It highlighted to them how many people were already using social media. They seemed ‘surprised’ (in their words), at how many people were already ‘engaging in social media’ within the charities sector. It did make me wonder if some people really do live in a closed environment?! Anyway, they did discover that plenty of us are using social media, but many people are not very sure about how to integrate social media with other forms of marketing communication for the benefit of their business. Social media expert explains ‘tribing’ and how it can boost your business profile

tribing within social media
Tribing will become a trend within social media

One of the trends that will develop over the next few years is ‘tribing’.
It will make a considerable difference to the value of your website from a Google perspective and I believe it should be an essential part of your social media strategy.

The term will be used to describe the act of working in strategic groups to increase popularity for say an event or piece of news.

By that, I mean actively working to stimulate both conversation and response to content that is distributed within the social media arena.

The recent changes in attitude from our favourite search engine means that one of the most important measurements that they can make in assessing the ‘popularity’ of a website, is in the number of times people respond to your content.

Thus, by working together in what we would maybe call a ‘tribe’ it is possible to boost your visibility and popularity, hence the term ‘Tribing’.

At M3 Media Publishing, we spend our time looking ahead at the changes we expect to see from Google and so far, certainly for the last couple of years, we have anticipated each move or change in rules that they have made – and we have taken advantage of it… Continue reading “Social media expert explains ‘tribing’ and how it can boost your business profile”

The internet actually just makes it that much easier for some of us to continue with this communication. The issue with a lot of people however, is that they don’t understand the new-fangled tools that make it all work!

The more traditional business sectors, like the construction and property sector do seem to be lagging behind a little in taking this social media stuff on board.

We had the same issues in the past with fax machines (well some of us, I’m sure), with computers and more recently, mobile  and smart phones. Continue reading “Social Media – A powerful tool for the Property and Construction sector”
