Here’s a very short video with comment from Matt Cutts, Head of Google’s Webspam team, about the value Google place on links in different places around your webpages.
It’s a bit more specialist than the subjects I normally talk about, but with so many more people getting into blogging, I thought it may be useful.
It is important how you place links, what anchor text you use and the number of links you place within your articles – and also where they are placed within the text.
It can be confusing, but I suggest you speak to someone who knows the rules and then, once you have learned the correct way to add your links, I’m sure your efforts will prove more rewarding in future.
